Like the dream pub crawl, the one-day Bushstock Festival showcases artists - both well-known and raw, un-mainstream,on-the-verge-of-greatness artists - in intimate settings around The Bush (St Stephen's Church and Bush Hall win for atmosphere). These guys know a thing or two about throwing a party - they've been doing it for 28 years. After a one-year break and a relocation to London, Southport Weekender relaunches this year as a one-day outdoor festival. This overnighter is for travellers intrepid enough to schlep to the end of the Jubilee Line. It's set on a glampsite outside the north London village of Elstree, and hosted by Sir Ranulph Fiennes to raise funds for his Transglobe Expedition Trust. Taking place around a big campfire, eight adventurers will share their recent experiences with 300 lucky guests. Catch Spike Reid, just back from stand-up paddleboarding the River Ganges, and Laura Bingham who crossed South America by bicycle without a penny, plus eight-piece live band The Vagaband, free pizza from the Proper Pizza Company and bubbles from the Bubble Brothers Prosecco van.

This urban music festival celebrates the newest and best hip hop, grime and R&B and a fleet of big US names will appear.
