FAQ
************************
Q: What do I need to bring?
A: A bike, sleeping bag, warm clothes, waterproof jacket/pants (in case it rains), tent, personal items and any beverages you will want. PLEASE PACK LIGHT. We only have so much room in the Zipcar Van. Pack as if you had to take everything on your bike.
Q: Will I have to carry anything?
A: Nope! We’ll load up all the supplies in our Zipcar Van. Thus, you get to bike free of cargo on the Silver Comet Trail.
Q: Do I need a special bike?
A: No but yes. Any bike is fine, but whichever you choose, please make sure your bike is fully tuned up and able to maintain a reasonable pace. This is a “no one left behind ride” but we do expect you to ride at a 10-12mph (AKA social) pace during the trip.
Q: What if I’ve never bike camped before?
A: No problem! This trip is for the newbie to the seasoned pro. All skill levels welcome. Just make sure that you can handle the distance (~40mi) and the pace (10-12mph).
Q: What about food?
A: All food for this trip is taken care of by the ACF. On Saturday, we will provide lunch and dinner. On Sunday, we will provide breakfast and light snacks. Feel free to bring some extra snacks to share. The menu will be announced closer to the event. We will have vegetarian/vegan options available for every meal. Please select the ticket that corresponds to your food preference.
Q: What about food allergies?
A: If you have any food allergies, please let us know. We will have vegetarian/vegan and meat options. If you have allergies to peanut, soy, gluten, etc, please communicate this to us.
Q: What about bathrooms and showers?
A: Plenty of bathrooms are located along the trail and at the campsite. There are showers at the campground.
Q: Where does the money go?
A: Ticket sales will go towards covering the costs of camping (food, drinks, camp site, etc.) and the remaining proceeds will be used to produce this the 2017 Atlanta Cycling Festival (Coming June 10 – June 17).
Q: What’s The Super Secret Surprise?
A: We’d tell you, but it’s super secret. And a super surprise. Trust us. It’s worth the extra few bucks.
Q: Is there an age limit?
A: All participants must be 18yrs or older, unless accompanied by a parent.
Q: Will I be able to make it to Atlanta Streets Alive on Sunday?
A: You bet. We aim to have everyone done in time for Atlanta Streets Alive.
Q: Why only 50 tickets?
A: We want to keep this small and intimate.
